Świdnik is an urban municipality in Lublin Voivodeship situated approximately 10 kilometers southeast of Lublin. The town covers about 20 square kilometers and functions as the administrative hub for Świdnik County.
The settlement first appeared in historical records in 1392, though it only gained city status on January 1, 1973. This transformation marked its development into a formal urban center.
The city features a Roman Catholic church constructed in 1977, representing a significant addition to the municipal infrastructure following sustained community requests.
