Gmina Ciasna is a rural municipality in Lubliniec County, in the Silesian region of southern Poland, made up of several villages spread across forests and farmland. The settlements are scattered across the territory and connected by local roads running through open countryside.
The land that now forms this municipality grew up along a medieval trade route linking Wroclaw and Krakow, which brought people and commerce through the area from the 13th century onward. Over time, small settlements took root along this corridor and gradually shaped the pattern of villages seen today.
The Cultural Center in Ciasna regularly hosts performances by a local brass band that plays at community events throughout the year. A majorettes dance group from the same municipality takes part in regional competitions and draws audiences from nearby villages.
The municipality has library branches in several villages, including Ciasna, Glinica, and Sierakow Slaski, which can be a good starting point for finding local information. Since the villages are spread out across a wide area, having your own transport makes it much easier to move between them.
In the village of Sierakow Slaski, there is an oak tree protected as a natural monument that has survived for several centuries without being disturbed. Its trunk is so wide that it stands out even among the other old trees in the surrounding forest.
