Sigismund's Chapel, Renaissance chapel in Wawel Cathedral, Kraków, Poland

The chapel features a square base structure topped with a golden dome, decorated with white walls and deep red marble statues of multiple saints.

Italian architect Bartolomeo Berrecci constructed the chapel between 1519 and 1533 under King Sigismund I, marking the introduction of Renaissance architecture in Poland.

The interior walls display intricate stone carvings of floral arabesques, mythological scenes, and Polish royal symbols, reflecting the artistic excellence of the period.

Visitors can access the chapel through guided tours of Wawel Cathedral, which operates daily with specific morning and afternoon opening hours.

The silver altarpiece contains detailed scenes from the Virgin Mary's life, created by master craftsmen from Nuremberg during the years 1531 to 1538.
