Leśna

Leśna is a municipality in southwestern Poland situated along the Kwisa River and surrounded by forests north of the Jizera Mountains. The area features rolling terrain with a lake reservoir that provides water and recreational space for the region.

The settlement was first recorded in written documents in the 12th century and later gained market rights that shaped its growth. It became a center for cloth production, which brought prosperity and influenced its development for centuries.

The town's buildings and everyday life show the mixed heritage of the region through different architectural styles and local customs. These influences remain visible in how people use and maintain the spaces around them today.

The area has well-marked hiking trails around the lake and through surrounding forests suitable for different activity levels. These paths are accessible year-round, offering ways to explore the natural landscape whether visiting for a short walk or longer activities.

The original settlement shifted to a new location after conflicts in the 15th century, leaving behind the initial site. The current town layout and position were established when inhabitants rebuilt further south.
