Nowotaniec

Nowotaniec is a village in the Pogórze Bukowskie mountains of southeastern Poland, spread out along one main road. The settlement sits at around 270 meters in elevation, with houses and buildings arranged along the street in a typical village pattern.

The settlement received its founding charter in 1366 from King Casimir III the Great, which brought economic advantages to early inhabitants. Over the centuries, the village developed and its church underwent major rebuilding, reflecting the community's growth and stability.

A Roman Catholic church occupies a central place in village life, reflecting the spiritual center of the community. The building and its surroundings show how faith has been woven into daily life here for generations.

The village is best explored on foot, since most points of interest are located along the main street running through it. The cemetery to the west of the center area also serves neighboring communities, making it easy to locate.

Archaeological digs near the parish church uncovered hundreds of ceramic and glass items from a castle site dating to the 16th century. These discoveries reveal traces of a more prominent past that visitors seldom hear about or see displayed.
