Różan is a town in Mazovian Voivodeship that stretches along the Narew River and covers about 6.67 square kilometers. The townscape is shaped by the river landscape and displays a historically developed settlement pattern.
The town received its charter in 1387 and grew under the protection of Mazovian Dukes into an important trading center. In the 20th century it suffered heavy destruction that fundamentally changed its current appearance.
