Ciechanowiec, Historical municipality in Wysokie Mazowieckie County, eastern Poland
Ciechanowiec is a municipality in eastern Poland where the Nurzec River creates a clear division between the older and newer parts of the settlement. The waterway shapes how the town is laid out and how it has grown over time.
The settlement received Magdeburg rights and a coat of arms in 1429 from Vytautas the Great, the Grand Duke of Lithuania. This grant gave the town legal privileges that shaped its future development and status.
