Brzeg Dolny is a municipality in Lower Silesian Voivodeship situated northwest of Wrocław along the Oder River. The town serves as an administrative center for 13 surrounding villages with a combined population of around 12,765 people.
Known until 1945 as Dyhernfurth under German control, the settlement became part of Poland following World War II and territorial reorganization. The transition marked a significant shift in the region's administration and identity.
Today the town maintains active partnerships with cities in France, Russia, and Ukraine that began in 2005, fostering cultural exchange with residents and visitors.
