Prószków, Municipality in Upper Silesia, Poland.
Prószków is a municipality in Upper Silesia located about 10 kilometers south of Opole. The town sits on the Silesian Lowlands with a stream called Prószkowski Potok running through its area.
The settlement was first mentioned in 1250 and received city rights in 1560. Over the following centuries, it changed hands between Bohemian, Prussian, German, and Polish rulers.
The castle here dates from the Renaissance and was built in 1563. The faience factory that later operated changed how people worked and what the town produced.
The town connects to major roads including the A4 motorway and regional routes 414 and 429. These routes make it easy to reach nearby areas and travel through the region.
On July 29, 1921, this place recorded Poland's highest temperature of 40.2°C. That record still stands today.
