Pyskowice is an urban municipality in the Gliwice County area, situated near the Katowice metropolitan region. It lies in southern Poland's Silesian region.
The settlement first appeared in written records in 1256 and was granted town rights in 1260. This marked the beginning of its development as an established settlement.
