Valley of Three Ponds

Valley of Three Ponds is a recreational area in southern Katowice with three interconnected water bodies surrounded by woodland. The site features interconnecting pathways that allow access throughout the area for different types of activities.

The area was originally natural wetland but was reshaped during the 20th century through Katowice's industrial expansion. This transformation resulted in the creation of a managed recreational space that replaced the original landscape.

The valley serves as a meeting place where locals walk, jog, and spend time outdoors throughout the seasons. It has become woven into the daily rhythm of residents who use it for recreation and social connection.

The area is accessible through multiple entry points with cycling paths and bus stops, with parking near the main entrance. Walking or cycling through the trails at an easy pace allows you to explore all sections comfortably.

The water system is home to various fish species and water birds that nest around the three ponds. These residents are an important part of the ecosystem and can often be spotted during a visit.
