Ośno Lubuskie is a medieval town in Lubusz Voivodeship in western Poland. It sits near the Łęcza River and Reczynek Lake, and its old defensive walls built in 1477 still form part of the town layout.
The settlement gained town rights in 1282 from Lubusz bishops and grew into an important trading center. By 1447 it had become the seat of a county administration.
The Gothic Parish Church of St. Jacob shapes the town center with its medieval stone walls and pointed arches. This building shows how faith and local pride were expressed through architecture that people still see today.
The town is best explored on foot, as the old center is tightly built around the main square. The town hall at Rynek 1 serves as a good landmark and starting point for walking through the streets.
