Mokotów, City district in Warsaw, Poland.
Mokotów is a residential district in southern Warsaw, characterised by wide streets and multi-storey housing blocks from different decades. The neighbourhood covers a large area with many squares, small parks, and tree-lined pavements.
The former village grew with urban expansion in the 19th century and was heavily transformed after World War II through the construction of new housing estates. In the following decades, the area developed into an important residential location for the capital.
The district maintains multiple theaters, art galleries, and music venues that provide regular performances and exhibitions for the local community.
Visitors reach different parts of the district easily using public transport, as several bus and tram lines run through the area. Local shops, cafés, and restaurants can be found along the main streets and within residential zones.
A large recreational ground in the eastern part once served as an airfield and now offers wide lawns for sports and leisure. This open field attracts families and outdoor enthusiasts on warm days.
