Rudy Monastery, Medieval Cistercian abbey in Rudy, Poland

The monastery complex encompasses a gothic church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a quadrilateral monastery, and baroque palace wings.

Prince Władysław of Racibórz established the abbey in 1258, bringing Cistercian monks from Jędrzejów to create a religious center in Silesia.

The monastery maintained a scriptorium and developed a collection of 18,000 books, making it a center of learning in medieval Silesia.

Visitors can explore the monastery grounds, surrounding historic park, and follow an educational trail with information boards explaining the site's features.

The monastery buildings transformed into a palace for the dukes of Racibórz after 1810, combining religious architecture with noble residence features.
