Janowice Wielkie, Village in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland
Located in southwestern Poland, Janowice Wielkie sits 14 kilometers east of Jelenia Góra at the base of the Silesian Mountains.
Prior to 1945, the settlement operated under the name Jannowitz as part of Germany until its transfer to Polish administration after World War II.
The village features two religious buildings, the Christ the King Church and the Assumption of Mary Church, representing local architectural traditions.
The village serves as the administrative center of Gmina Janowice Wielkie district and maintains a population of approximately 2,100 residents.
From the village, visitors can access Bolczów Castle ruins, positioned at 561 meters elevation and damaged during the 1643 Swedish attack.
