Gmina Prażmów, Administrative division in Piaseczno County, Poland.
Gmina Prażmów is a rural municipality in Powiat piaseczyński, Masovian Voivodeship, in Poland. It covers a patchwork of villages, farmland, and forested areas spread across the southern outskirts of the Warsaw metropolitan region.
The settlement of Prażmów has roots going back to medieval times, when the area was part of the landed estates that dotted the Masovian plain. Its current administrative shape was defined during the local government reform that Poland carried out in the 1990s.
The villages that make up this rural municipality still follow rhythms tied to farming and the seasons, which shapes how local life is organized. Small roadside chapels and wooden farmsteads are common sights along the country lanes that connect the settlements.
The municipality sits south of Warsaw and is most easily reached by car, as bus connections to the villages are infrequent. The municipal office in the village of Prażmów is the main point of contact for any official matters.
Despite sitting within easy reach of Warsaw, much of the municipal territory has kept its agricultural character and avoided the wave of suburban construction that transformed many nearby areas. This makes it one of the few places in the Warsaw belt where open fields and tree lines still dominate the view from the road.
