Bolestraszyce is a village in Subcarpathian Voivodeship in southeastern Poland, located in a rural area near the Ukrainian border. The Arboretum is the heart of the settlement and contains hundreds of tree and shrub species planted across spacious green grounds.
The village emerged under Austro-Hungarian rule in the Galician region and was part of Przemyśl district until World War I ended. After 1918 it became part of Poland and remained within the nation's modern borders.
