Gmina Bodzanów

Gmina Bodzanów spans across plains in the Masovian region and is shaped by forest areas and the Mołtawa River. The administrative district consists of 34 villages and supports roughly 8,100 residents through municipal services.

The area received town rights in 1351 from Duke Bolesław III, marking its importance as an early settlement in this region. This medieval beginning shaped the development of the village communities that grew here over the centuries.

The Pentecost celebration connects residents to the historical presence of Norbertine nuns who lived and worked across these villages for centuries. This annual gathering keeps alive the memory of a religious community that shaped daily life in the area.

Visiting the various villages requires a car or bicycle since the settlements are spread across the flat landscape. It is best to explore at a leisurely pace to enjoy the rural character and natural surroundings.

Several traditional water mills still stand in Bodzanów, Gąsewo, and Osmolinek, showing the craftsmanship of earlier times. These engineering structures are now rare examples of how residents once processed grain and used water power for daily work.
