Głogoczów, Village in Gmina Myślenice, Poland.
Głogoczów is a village in the Pogórze Wielickie region that spreads across varying elevations between 250 and 340 meters (820 to 1115 feet). It sits in a central valley surrounded by low hills and lies close to the major expressway connecting Kraków to Zakopane.
The settlement was first documented in 1254 when a nobleman named Czader granted it to Cistercian monks from Szczyrzyc Monastery. Ownership passed through several noble families over the following centuries, shaping the community's development.
The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene anchors the village center as a gathering place for worship and community celebrations. Local residents use the community center for events that mark the seasons and bring neighbors together.
The village sits about 9 kilometers northwest of Myślenice and roughly 19 kilometers south of Kraków, making it convenient for people who commute to these larger centers. The proximity to the expressway provides good road connections for daily travel and access to regional services.
The land passed through the hands of several noble families over the centuries, including the Jordan family, Prince Massalski, and the Potocki family from 1792 onward. This succession of ownership by wealthy landowners left marks on how the village developed and was shaped.
