Warta-Widawka Landscape Park

The Warta-Widawka Landscape Park is a protected area in Bełchatów County with varied terrain, river valleys, limestone formations, and wetland areas full of marsh plants. The land is crossed by multiple waterways that create different habitats for rare and protected species.

The protected area was established in 1989 to preserve central Poland's natural landscapes and biodiversity. This decision was part of a broader effort to protect important natural regions across Europe from industrial development.

Local communities around the park practice traditional farming methods that have been passed down through generations. These ways of working the land show how deeply people are connected to this landscape.

The area has many marked hiking trails where visitors can walk, watch birds, and observe plant species in their natural environment. It is best explored on foot or by bicycle, and sturdy footwear is recommended since many trails pass through damp areas.

In the center of the park, three rivers - Widawka, Grabia, and Nieciecz - come together and form an unusual ecological system. This meeting point creates a distinctive hydrological situation that produces habitats for specialized plant and animal species.
