Nieborów Palace, Baroque palace in Nieborów, Poland
Nieborów Palace is a Baroque residence in Nieborów, Poland, recognizable by its layered roof with angular corner towers and French-style formal gardens. The furnished interior rooms display period pieces from different centuries, while the grounds include a coach house, manufactory, outbuilding, orangery, and two parks with contrasting landscaping.
Tylman van Gameren built the residence between 1690 and 1696 for Archbishop Michał Radziejowski. The construction replaced an earlier Gothic-Renaissance building that had stood on the same site.
The estate serves as a museum branch of the National Museum in Warsaw, displaying portraits of noble families and decorative items from earlier periods. Visitors can see how aristocratic households once arranged their rooms and used objects that shaped everyday life over centuries.
Visitors can walk through the furnished rooms and explore the various buildings on the estate, including outbuildings and two parks with different layouts. The grounds allow for leisurely strolls, while the buildings provide insight into period interiors.
One of the estate ponds holds Wolffia Arrhiza, considered the smallest flowering plant species in the world. This tiny aquatic plant is easy to miss, even though it holds a notable botanical record.
