Klasztor Franciszkanów w Łodzi

The Franciscan Monastery in Łagiewniki is a complex of brick buildings arranged in Baroque style with carved stone details on the facades. Multiple connected structures and interior courtyards organize the daily life and spaces of the religious community.

The monastery was founded in 1683 when a wooden church dedicated to the Trinity and Immaculate Conception was consecrated. Stone buildings were later constructed to support the growing community's needs.

The monastery functions as a religious education center, housing the Higher Seminary of Franciscan Fathers, which received its dedicated building in 1989.

The church is open to visitors during daytime hours, and religious services are held regularly. Respectful behavior is important since this is an active monastery with daily community life.

During World War II, German occupation forces converted the monastery into a vehicle repair workshop and dismantled several nearby chapels. The site was later gradually restored to recover its original religious purpose.
