Ruda Różaniecka, Village in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland
Ruda Różaniecka is a village in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in southeastern Poland, set between three rivers and dotted with ponds and water reservoirs. It lies within the Roztocze area, where fish farming and waterways shape the landscape.
The village was founded in the 18th century when the Lubaczów starost set up a metallurgical plant to process iron ore from the Różaniec River. That early industrial activity gave the settlement its name and laid the ground for what came after.
The neo-Baroque palace complex with its landscape park of native trees shapes the look of the village and recalls the Brunicki and Wattman families who once owned it. The park remains open to visitors and offers a shaded walk among old trees.
The Green Velo East of Poland Cycling Trail passes through the village, connecting it to nearby towns and regional points of interest. The terrain is mostly flat, making the route easy to follow for most visitors, and signs are clearly posted along the way.
The old iron ore extraction pits were gradually turned into fish ponds and now form the largest fish farming operation in Lubaczów County. Fresh fish from these ponds goes directly to local restaurants and food businesses in the area.
