Hotel Alumnat in Tykocin, Heritage hotel and monument in Tykocin, Poland.
Hotel Alumnat is a brick building with a square layout and internal courtyard, rising as a single-story structure near the Narew River. The property contains 32 guest rooms, a conference hall for around one hundred people, and an on-site restaurant serving daily meals.
The building was founded between 1633 and 1654 as a home for retired soldiers by Krzysztof Wiesiołowski, the local administrator of Tykocin. It provided shelter for injured Catholic nobles who had served the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
The restaurant serves dishes rooted in the border region between the Crown and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, preserving recipes that reflect how people once ate in this area. Visitors can taste how the location's history shaped local food traditions.
The hotel operates daily with check-in from midday and check-out in the late morning. Visitors should book in advance, particularly if events are scheduled or during peak tourist seasons.
The property was used as a filming location for Polish feature films including "U Pana Boga w ogródku" and "U Pana Boga za miedzą". This cinematic history connects the site to broader Polish cultural production.
