Arboretum, Scientific arboretum in Puszcza Zielonka Landscape Park, Poland.
The Arboretum spans a large area combining a cultivated dendrological park with natural forest sections. Together, these spaces contain more than a thousand tree and shrub species arranged according to botanical principles.
This collection was founded in 1979 by Professor Jan Meixner, dean of the Faculty of Forestry at the Agricultural Academy in Poznan. Students and staff from the academy supported the initial establishment and development of the site.
The pathways here are named after notable scientists from Poznan, creating a tangible connection to the region's research traditions. Walking through these named routes reminds visitors of the academic legacy that shaped this place.
The site is open year-round and free to enter, making it accessible at any time. Two marked educational trails help visitors navigate, including one through an insect garden and another following the Trojanki River valley.
A meteorological station on the grounds collects real-time weather data and supports ongoing research activities. This equipment helps visitors plan their walks by providing current conditions while serving the scientific work of the site.
