Cmentarz ewangelicko-augsburski Bydgoszcz

The Evangelical-Augsburg cemetery in Bydgoszcz is a burial ground arranged in orderly rows with gravestones of varied design and construction. The layout reflects different periods of burial practices, with graves showing a range of artistic styles and building materials throughout the space.

The cemetery was established in 1910 and gained monument status in 1994. This recognition highlighted the presence and importance of the Lutheran community in the region over several decades.

The cemetery serves as a resting place for notable residents, including Olympic medalist Teresa Ciepły and writer Tadeusz Nowakowski.

The cemetery is located on Zaświat Street and remains accessible to visitors during regular hours. As an active burial ground, it is advisable to check ahead since ongoing ceremonies or burials may occasionally affect visitor access.

In 2018, remains of 80 individuals were discovered during renovation work at other locations in Bydgoszcz and later transferred to this cemetery. This reburial honored people whose original burial sites had been lost or disturbed.
