Kaszana Tower in Trzebiatów

Kaszana Tower is a cylindrical brick structure from the medieval period that rises 21 meters high with a diameter of roughly 5.6 meters. It contains several floors with defensive openings, including a prison chamber at ground level and observation areas on the upper levels.

The tower was built in the first half of the 14th century to serve as a strategic defensive structure for the town. It later changed its purpose and was used to store gunpowder, showing how military buildings adapted to new needs over time.

The tower represents medieval military construction methods that were common throughout Pomerania and is maintained today as a heritage monument. Visitors can see how such structures were central to protecting settlements during that era.

The tower is open to visitors during summer months and allows exploration of three floors with varying perspectives of the surrounding area. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes as the interior stairways are narrow and require careful climbing.

At its top are original 15th-century defensive consoles that once supported a guard terrace for monitoring the surrounding area. These architectural details reveal the sophisticated defense system that extended beyond the basic structure.
