Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows in Limanowa

The Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows is a Catholic church in Limanowa with stone-clad exterior walls and a tall tower topped by a neo-Baroque cupola. The building blends architectural styles while incorporating traditional highland construction elements that are visible throughout its design.

A devastating fire in 1769 destroyed the original church, followed by a wooden structure built in 1776 that lasted until 1909, when construction of the current building began. The reconstruction reflects the community's resilience and commitment to rebuilding their religious center.
