Saint Demetrius church in Szczawnik

Saint Demetrius Church features traditional log construction methods with shingled walls and incorporates three distinct sections in West Lemko architectural style.

Originally constructed in 1841 as a Greek Catholic church, the building underwent several renovations during the latter half of the twentieth century.

The interior contains a late baroque iconostasis from the nineteenth century and walls decorated with religious paintings completed between 1936 and 1937.

Located at coordinates 49.3825N, 20.8683E, the church stands at the base of Pusta Wielka mountain in the Sądecki Beskids region.

The church houses multiple side altars with specific paintings, including The Transfiguration of Our Lord and The Mourning of Christ.
