Loreto chapel in Kraków, Baroque chapel near Capuchin Church in Kraków, Poland.
The Loreto Chapel is a Baroque church beside the Capuchin Church in Kraków, with a figure of Our Lady of Loreto displayed above the main altar. The interior has a prayer area in the center with a gallery above from which visitors can view the altar.
Construction of the chapel began in 1712 under architect Kacper Bażanka and was completed in 1719. The structure was built as a new addition next to the existing Church of the Annunciation.
The chapel displays inscriptions honoring Polish scientists and military figures on its walls. Visitors can read these names and understand which people are remembered in this space.
The chapel is most accessible on the first Saturday of each month when gatherings follow the morning mass. At other times, access may depend on the opening hours of the neighboring Capuchin Church.
The tabernacle inside comes from the personal desk of King John III Sobieski, whom he donated to the Capuchin order. This historical piece connects the chapel to Poland's royal history.
