Owcza Góra Fort in Kłodzko

Owcza Góra Fort is a military installation on the southeastern slope of a hill near Kłodzko, Poland, built with a star-shaped ground plan and reinforced corner structures. The fortification contains two main levels connected by a trench system and preserves its original stone construction.

Construction began in 1743 under Christian Friedrich von Wrede's direction following designs by Gerhard Cornelius de Wallrave to strengthen Prussian defenses in the region. After 1750, additional defensive structures were added to increase its military effectiveness.

The fort displays 18th-century Prussian military design through its distinctive star-shaped layout and reinforced corner structures that were cutting-edge defensive technology of the time. Visitors can experience how this architectural approach shaped the region's protection strategies.
