Nature reserve Jezioro Francuskie, Nature reserve near Ostróda, Poland.
The reserve spans 15 hectares, encompassing French Lake and surrounding forest areas with 170-year-old beech trees at Dylewska Mountain.
The reserve, established in 1963, gained its name from an incident during the Napoleonic campaign when local peasants confronted French soldiers at the lake.
The protected area serves as an educational site where visitors learn about ecological conservation while exploring marked nature trails through diverse landscapes.
Visitors can access the reserve through hiking paths from Wysoka Wies village, with October offering the clearest water visibility for nature observation.
Located at 285 meters above sea level, French Lake holds the distinction of being the highest elevated lake in northeastern Poland.
