The Lasy Janowskie reserve spans over 2,674 hectares of mixed forest terrain, featuring numerous peat bogs, marshlands, and water reservoirs within its boundaries.

Established in 1984, the reserve preserves the location of the largest partisan battle between Polish-Soviet forces and German invaders during World War II.

The reserve contains several memorial sites, including a partisan cemetery and a monument at Porytowe Hill, marking significant wartime events.

Visitors can explore the 1.5-kilometer educational trail that starts from a spacious parking area designed for both cars and buses at the reserve entrance.

The protected area hosts 800 species of vascular plants and serves as a habitat for more than 150 bird species within the western section of the former Solska Forest.
