Schronisko PTTK "Bacówka pod Trójgarbem", Mountain shelter in Central Sudetes, Poland
Schronisko PTTK "Bacówka pod Trójgarbem" is a wooden mountain hut built on stone foundations in the Central Sudetes region at approximately 500 meters elevation. The two-story structure was situated near popular hiking trails and natural areas, providing lodging for visitors exploring the surrounding landscape.
The Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society constructed this mountain shelter between 1977 and 1984 on the site of a former German refuge known as Sattelwaldbaude. The new building reflected post-war development efforts to expand recreational infrastructure in the Sudeten mountains.
The building design incorporated architectural elements from the Beskids region, marking a departure from traditional Sudeten mountain shelter construction patterns.
The shelter can be reached via mountain hiking trails from multiple directions in the region. Visitors should know the site is no longer operational, so proper preparation and gear for extended walking are necessary.
The shelter received the designation of Poland's lowest-rated mountain refuge in 2009 by a national hiking magazine before closing permanently.
