The Synagogue in Orla is a stone prayer house with Renaissance elements, marked by columns and a classical facade. Inside, traces of wall paintings with vegetal motifs reveal the building's artistic past.
The building was erected in the second half of the 17th century and later expanded with brick galleries for women. It suffered major damage from fire but survived and still stands today.
The synagogue building currently functions as a venue for concerts, educational programs, and Jewish cultural festivals, maintaining its connection to local heritage.
Visitors can view the building's exterior and study its architectural details in person. A digital exploration of the interior is available online to examine the room layout and decorations.
Archaeological digging revealed that a wooden prayer house once stood at this location before the current stone structure was built. This earlier building shows how long Jewish life flourished in the town.
