Tyrsko, Natural lake in Gutkowo district, Olsztyn, Poland.
Lake Tyrsko is a natural body of water covering about 18 hectares with a maximum depth of 30 meters. Its steep banks are surrounded by meadows and fields, with roughly 1725 meters of shoreline where a hotel complex occupies the northern section.
The lake gained nature reserve status in 1957 to protect Isoetes lacustris L., a rare aquatic plant found in the Mazury region. This protection reflects early recognition of the site's ecological importance.
The lake draws local anglers who come to fish for pike, perch, and eel throughout the year. Fishing remains a central activity that shapes how people spend their time here.
The lake offers several unguarded beaches where visitors can swim and relax. Water conditions near these beaches tend to be suitable for a comfortable visit.
The lake has shifted from clear, nutrient-poor conditions in the 1930s to its current moderate nutrient state. This transformation shows how water bodies respond to changing environmental pressures over time.
