In medieval times the slopes supported grape cultivation which became the source of its name. The German word for this mountain translates to Wine Mountain reflecting its agricultural past.

Access to the summit is available through marked trails starting from Złotoryja where parking and information boards are located at the base. The paths are easy to follow and suited for walkers of various abilities.
