Wyspa Edwarda, 3-hectare island in Lake Raczynski, Greater Poland, Poland.
Wyspa Edwarda is a small island in Lake Raczynski featuring a timber-frame house with brick infill, surrounded by roughly 60 oak trees. The structure adopts Swiss-style architecture and commands views across the water.
The island takes its name from Count Edward Raczynski, who managed the estate from 1815 to 1845 and commissioned the Swiss house between 1817 and 1819. This building continues to define the place's identity today.
The house displays a memorial plaque honoring Mieczyslaw Orlowicz, a traveler who regularly explored the area. This marks the connection between the place and those who appreciated it over time.
The island is reachable by ferry during summer months. Following major infrastructure upgrades completed in 2016, access is now more convenient and better equipped.
About 50 of the oak trees here have been granted natural monument status. This makes the small area a concentrated space of protected nature.
