Wojciechów Castle

Wojciechów Castle is a medieval defensive tower built from stone in the northern section of a larger complex. The structure features robust walls constructed from local materials typical of fortifications from that period.

The tower was built under Jan Pilecki, the Lublin staroste, following the devastation caused by Tatar invasions around 1500. Its early construction made it an important defensive position against repeated outside threats.

The tower earned its name 'Arian Tower' from Protestant families who lived on the grounds during the 16th and 17th centuries. This connection shaped the local story and shows how religious communities influenced the region.

The tower is accessible today and can be viewed from outside, with its solid construction well preserved. Visitors should check with local information centers for current visiting conditions and any seasonal access details.

In later centuries the defensive structure was transformed into a grain storage facility while remarkably keeping its original architecture intact. This unexpected repurposing shows how medieval buildings adapted flexibly to new functions.
