Uniejów Castle

Uniejów Castle is a stone fortress located on the left bank of the Warta River, featuring thick defensive walls and a prominent rectangular tower. The structure comprises multiple sections that reflect different architectural periods from Gothic through Classical styles.

Archbishop Jarosław Bogoria Skotnicki commissioned this fortress between 1360 and 1365 to replace a wooden stronghold destroyed by the Teutonic Knights. The castle later changed hands between noble families who made alterations, particularly the House of Toll in the 1800s.

The castle reflects the tastes of successive owners through its mixed architectural styles visible in different wings and rooms. Walking through the interior, you notice how each era added its own touches to the original stone structure.

The castle operates as a hotel with guest rooms and event spaces, so access and available areas may vary depending on bookings and functions. It is best to check ahead about visiting conditions, as some parts may be reserved for hotel guests or events on certain days.
