Lake Radkowskie, zbiornik retencyjny w Polsce
Lake Radkowskie is a man-made reservoir near the town of Radków in Lower Silesia. The water body spans several hectares surrounded by forested hills, with clear water and gently sloping banks suitable for swimming and recreation.
The lake formed from old stone quarries and gravel excavations that gradually filled with water over time. It was developed for flood control and water supply purposes, and later became established as a recreation area for the community.
The lake takes its name from the nearby town of Radków. Locals regularly visit to swim, fish, picnic, and gather with family and friends by the water, making it an important part of community life.
A guarded swimming zone with regular water quality checks provides safe bathing for families and visitors. Parking is available nearby, and an easy walking trail circles the lake with benches and rest areas along the way.
The water has a faint reddish tint that comes from a mountain stream flowing down from the Czech border. This distinctive coloring is documented by regular water quality tests and gives the lake its particular character.
