Lake Starachowice, Artificial reservoir in Starachowice, Poland.
Lake Starachowice is an artificial reservoir in the city of Starachowice and consists of two distinct areas separated by an embankment. One section is dedicated to recreational activities and water sports, while the other serves as a water extraction zone.
The reservoir was created by dam construction completed in 1920 and originally supplied water to local factories. After 1996, its role as an industrial water source declined significantly and it gradually transformed into a recreational destination.
The northern shoreline features a three-kilometer walking path, connecting local communities through outdoor recreational activities and social gatherings.
The area features a skatepark, playground with zip lines, trampolines and climbing walls, bicycle racks, and monitored rest areas. A wide pathway along the northern shoreline makes walking easy and connects different sections of the lake.
A protected ecological area within the lake zone provides habitat for various waterfowl and different plant species. This section is deliberately preserved to maintain the natural diversity of the reservoir.
