Łysa Góra, Mountain summit in Kaczawskie Mountains, Poland.
Łysa Góra is a 708-meter summit in the Kaczawskie Mountains located on the western side of the Southern Ridge. The top offers views across the Jelenia Gora Valley toward the Karkonosze Mountains on the horizon.
The explorer Alexander von Humboldt visited the summit and counted its views among the finest he had seen anywhere in the world. The mountain became an established destination for travelers interested in nature and mountain scenery.
The mountain forms part of a regional peak-collecting tradition that encourages hikers to visit multiple summits across the range. Its name literally translates to "bald mountain" and describes the open, tree-free summit that has become its trademark.
The summit is reached via an easy hiking trail suitable for families of varying abilities. Parking is available near the former ski station at the base of the mountain.
The mountain once hosted a working ski resort with multiple lifts serving winter sports enthusiasts until climate shifts forced closure around 2018. Remnants of the old infrastructure remain visible on the slopes today.
