Fort 52 "Borek"

Fort 52 Borek is an Austro-Hungarian fortification in Kraków featuring a dual-rampart design and underground barracks covered with thick earth layers for protection. The structure contains a caponier for flanking fire and displays construction techniques typical of late 19th century military engineering.

The fort was constructed between 1885 and 1886 as part of the Austro-Hungarian defensive ring surrounding Kraków. It was built to protect the Vienna route from potential attacks coming from the north.
