Bańdzioch Kominiarski, Cave system in Tatra Mountains, Poland.
Bańdzioch Kominiarski is a deep cave system in the Tatra Mountains with multiple levels extending through the rock. The underground passages connect large chambers and create a complex network of different elevations throughout the mountain.
The cave was discovered in 1968 when explorers first mapped its passages and chambers within the mountain. Subsequent expeditions gradually revealed the full extent of the connected levels and passages.
The name derives from Podhale dialect where Bańdzioch means belly, referring to the interior shape of certain cave sections.
The cave can be entered from two different locations on the mountainside at different elevations. Visiting requires physical fitness and comfort with climbing, tight passages, and vertical sections.
The cave contains seven distinct floor levels with numerous vertical shafts, spacious chambers, and passages filled with mineral formations.
