The Institute conducts scientific analysis in multiple forensic disciplines including toxicology, genetic research, ballistics, and investigative methodologies for criminal cases.
During World War II, the Institute worked with Jagiellonian University to examine documents and evidence related to Polish officers murdered in Katyn.
