Architect Leopold Tlachna designed this tenement house, which was completed in 1896. It was later purchased by Wincenty Szymborski, father of Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska, giving the building a significant personal connection.

The staircase features painted ceilings with decorative details that reflect the tastes of wealthy residents in late 19th century Kraków. Such ornamentation was typical for residential buildings inhabited by respected families.

The building is located in a residential neighborhood and is easily accessible from the outside. Visitors can admire the facade with its decorative elements and view the memorial plaque on the exterior.

Nobel Prize winner Wisława Szymborska lived in this building from 1929 to 1948, spending her formative years as a writer here. A memorial plaque on the facade today commemorates her residence and her connection to the place.
