Jaskinia Obłazkowa, Cave system in Dolina Kościeliska, Poland
Jaskinia Obłazkowa is a cave extending roughly 214 meters through limestone at the base of Raptawicka Turnia, positioned about 130 meters above the valley floor. Narrow passages connect it to other caves in the Pawlikowski system, though these linking sections remain closed to regular visitors.
The cave developed gradually through water erosion in limestone over vast stretches of time, forming part of the broader Pawlikowski cave network in the Tatras. Its passages have continued to change slowly through ongoing underground water activity.
The cave draws visitors who enjoy exploring underground landscapes and natural rock formations in the mountains. People come here to experience how water and stone have shaped passages beneath the surface over countless generations.
Bring a flashlight since the cave has no natural light source for safe exploration of the interior passages. The trail from Dolina Kościeliska is marked and includes sections where you will need to use your hands and climb over rocks.
In winter, natural ice formations develop inside the cave, resembling frozen waterfalls in the dark passages below. These seasonal structures appear and vanish with temperature changes, offering visitors a completely different view than warmer seasons.
