Church of the Transfiguration in Krakow, Baroque church building in Old Town, Krakow, Poland.

The Church of the Transfiguration is a Baroque building with twin towers and a symmetrical facade, located on Pijarska Street in Krakow's Old Town. Its interior features several altars with religious paintings, positioned to take advantage of natural light from strategically placed windows.

The church was built between 1714 and 1727 under architect Kacper Bażanka's direction. From its origins, it served the Piarist order's educational mission and has remained a significant religious landmark in the Old Town ever since.

The Piarist order continues to use this church for religious services and education, and you can see how the local community still gathers here for worship and spiritual life.

The church opens for regular services and welcomes visitors during designated hours, though times may vary due to religious events. It is best to check visiting hours in advance and dress respectfully when entering.

The architects carefully planned the window placements to direct natural light onto the altars in a calculated way. This thoughtful lighting design reveals how much attention went into the original creation of the interior spaces.
