Saint James church is a three-nave brick and stone building that rises on a high escarpment near the market square. It features four round-cornered towers with dome-shaped helmets topped by blind lanterns, and the walls are decorated with framed divisions.
The Benedictine abbey of Tyniec funded construction between 1791 and 1794, replacing two earlier religious buildings on this site. The new church was built during a period of classical architecture and religious consolidation in the region.
The interior organ from the late 18th century displays rococo details with three arches and eight spiral columns supporting religious sculptures. These decorative elements reflect the artistic investment made in the church's furnishings.
The church sits on a high escarpment above the market square, overlooking the Biała River valley from its elevated position. The steep setting requires walking uphill to reach it, but this location rewards visitors with views across the landscape.
